Welcome to my blog! This is a place where I can share my learning. My blog is a collection of questions, ideas, learning in progress and finished work. This year our school focus is "In Our Backyard". Please make comments so I can deepen my understanding, learn about new ideas and improve my work. Thank you for taking the time to support my learning journey!
Kia ora Amy, English words are a little crazy at times with words that sound the same but are spelt differently (homophones). Perhaps you could think about homographs, these words are spelt the same but have 2 meanings and sometimes 2 ways of saying the word. Have a think about these ones: bat, letter, close, live, read. Can you work out the different meanings and if they are said the same or not?
Kia ora Amy, Great work on your word of the day mahi, isn't English a language with funny rules but once you know them you'll have them forever! I often see adults getting these wrong so it's great you found them easy. Can you think of any other words that sound the same but have different meanings? blog you later, Megan : )
